CHANGING THE HINGE PADS
The fit of the brace at the knee joint is adjustable. Your
brace is supplied with two pairs of hinge pads, with two thicknesses.
The hinge pads feature
a hook & loop attachment. To narrow the fit at the knee use a 6mm thick
pad on each side. To widen the fit at the knee use a 3mm thick pad on each
side. Alternatively any combination of padding can be used to achieve a
more customized fit.
CHANGING THE STRAP LENGTH

During the initial application you may need to customize
the length of one or all of the straps. To shorten the
straps, simply remove the Velcro strap end, cut the strap
square with a pair of scissors and reapply the strap end.
Take care not to cut the strap too short, as this may prevent
proper fit. The recommended overlap is 2.5" or 6.5cm.

REPLACING THE EXTENSION STOP HOUSING

Some riders may wish to customize the locking angle of their
brace by changing the ‘Extension stop’ housing. This is a simple task requiring the removal of two screws & nuts
as described below. You will need a flat head screw driver
and a 2mm allen key.
Step 1:
Remove the lower M3 screw & nut from both sides of the brace.
Step 2:
Pull the lower frame away from the hinge assembly as shown above.
Step 3:
Remove the existing extension stop housings from both sides by sliding them in the direction of the lower frame.
NOTE: The hinge stop housing locking angle MUST be the same on both sides of the brace; the components are clearly marked to ensure easy identification. This should be more highlighted
Step 4:
Slide ‘extension stop’ housing over the TPU ligament in the direction of the upper frame. Ensure a firm contact between the housing and the hinge cup.
Step 5:
Guide the lower frame into the hinge assembly ensuring the screw hole for the TPU ligament aligns with the hole in the hinge cup. Replace the two screws & nuts on both sides taking care to use the new parts supplied with the hinge stop housing. Complete care & cleaning inspection, then GO RIDE.

REPLACING THE POD TPU LIGAMENT

Changing the TPU Ligament is a simple task.
Step 1:
Remove the lower M3 screw & nut from both sides of the brace.
Step 2:
Pull the lower frame away from the hinge assembly as shown above.
Step 3:
Remove the existing extension stop housings from both sides by sliding them in the direction of the lower frame.
Step 4:
Then remove the upper M3 screw & nut from both sides of the brace.
Step 5:
Remove the old POD TPU ligaments by sliding them away from the upper frames until they release.
Step 6:
Insert the new TPU ligaments into both sides of the upper hinge cups and insert until the screw hole for the TPU ligament aligns with the hole in the upper hinge cup.
Step 7:
Slide ‘extension stop’ housing over the TPU ligament in the direction of the upper frame. Ensure a firm contact between the housing and the hinge cup.
Step 8:
Guide the lower frame into the hinge assembly ensuring the screw hole for the TPU ligament aligns with the hole in the hinge cup. Replace the two screws & nuts on both sides taking care to use the new parts supplied with the hinge stop housing. Complete care & cleaning inspection, then GO RIDE.

REPLACING THE PATELLA GUARD

Changing the patella guard is a simple task.
Step 1:
Hold the brace with both hands either side of the hinge and place your thumbs against the side wall of the patella guard.
Step 2:
Now squeeze the side wall of the patella with both thumbs until the patella tab is free of the patella guide.
Step 3:
Once one side is free the patella guard can be easily removed.
Step 4:
Your new patella guard is size and direction specific: this information is clearly marked on the patella guard. Please ensure that you use the correct sized patella guard for your brace.
Step 5:
Insert the patella tab into the patella guide on the side furthest from you.
Step 6:
Now in a similar motion to Step 2 while holding the brace with both hands, squeeze the side wall of the patella with both thumbs until the patella tab is aligned with the patella guide. Slowly release pressure on your thumbs and the patella tab will enter the guide.
Step 7:
Make sure the patella guard is fitting snugly into the patella guide on both sides of the brace.
NOTE: If the patella is upside down or not correctly fitted it cannot protect you.
